Normandeau Sponsors 38th Natural Areas Conference (FL)

Bedford, NH — The 38th Natural Areas Conference in Tallahassee, Florida on November 1st through the 4th is being sponsored by Normandeau. Peter Colverson, Planning, Outreach and Public Coordinator out of Normandeau's Gainesville, FL office, is on the national board of the Natural Areas Association, the conference hosts. Peter is acting as Program Chair for this year's conference.

The conference theme is Adaptation and Protection of Biodiversity in a Changing World and is reflective of several sessions on the potential impacts of climate change on the abilities of manager to protect the resources in their charge. Lara Hansen of Eco-Adapt is one of the Plenary Speakers. Lara recently published a book called Climate Savvy: Adapting Conservation and Resource Management to a Changing World. Eco-Adapt is an organization dedicated to alerting managers to the threats of climate change and the need for an adaptive approach.
