Wow! We are so honored to be recognized with the 2025 Community Award from New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR)! The Sustainability Awards recognize those companies that score high on the Measure What Matters Survey—a short sustainability-related survey that helps organizations gather data, tell their story, and assess impact.

Social responsibility and dedication to our local communities has been at the core of Normandeau Associates since its formation in response to the Clean Water Act of 1970. We have a genuine responsibility to the environment, our communities, and our workforce. As an employee-owned company, our stakeholders are our employees. And finding ways to give back to local organizations—particularly those based in science education—is a high priority.

We believe our key to success in supporting our local community has been the relationships we’ve made in our communities and continue to nurture over the years. Many of the local non-profits we sponsor and support have been on our radar for years—even decades—and we continue to keep in touch. In particular, we try to find different ways to support our local science community—more specifically in the realm of education for up-and-coming STEM youth.

Although we have a long-standing history of sponsoring and volunteering in our communities, we recognized that we could do even more. This year we rolled out our new Volunteer Time Off policy—allowing each employee up to 8 paid hours of volunteer time a year at the organization of their choice. This year, we’ve already had about a dozen employees take advantage of this new policy—helping five different local organizations meet various goals. It’s our hope to continue to support local communities through both this new VTO program as well as through annual sponsorships and donations.

On behalf of all of our employee owners, thank you for this award! And congratulations to all of this year’s winners.
